Plasticizer Production:
Core Application: Accounts for 60% of phthalic anhydride consumption. Mainly used to synthesize Dioctyl Phthalate (DOP), Dibutyl Phthalate (DBP), etc., for softening Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) plastics. Widely used in pipes, films, wires, and cables.
Resin Synthesis:
Unsaturated Polyester Resin: Used in fiberglass, coatings, artificial stone, etc.;
Alkyd Resin: Used in paints and inks to improve weather resistance and gloss.
Fine Chemicals:
Pharmaceutical Field: Synthesis of the laxative phenolphthalein and antibiotic intermediates;
Pesticide Field: Production of the insecticide phosmet and the herbicide bentazone;
Dyes and Pigments: Synthesis of phthalocyanine blue and anthraquinone dyes.
Other Uses:
Raw materials for saccharin sodium and food additives;
Epoxy resin curing agents and rubber scorch retarders.
